What's Human Design?

The Human Design System is a self-discovery tool that combines elements from various ancient and modern sciences, including astrology, the I Ching, Kabbalah, the chakra system, and quantum physics. Created by Ra Uru Hu in 1987, it aims to provide a "map" of how a person is energetically wired to operate in the world. It gives insight into an individual’s personality, strengths, weaknesses, and unique gifts, helping them to live in alignment with their true self.

Here's a quick breakdown of the main components:

  1. Types: There are five primary types in Human Design—Manifestor, Generator, Manifesting Generator, Projector, and Reflector. Each type has a distinct way of interacting with the world and a unique "strategy" for making decisions and avoiding resistance.

  2. Centers: Similar to chakras, the nine centers in Human Design represent energy hubs within the body, such as the Head, Ajna (mind), Throat, and Heart. Centers can be defined (consistent and reliable energy) or undefined (open to external influences), shaping how a person processes energy and experiences certain emotions or thoughts.

  3. Authority: Your authority is your inner decision-making style, based on specific centers in your chart. For example, someone with Emotional Authority should wait for emotional clarity, while someone with Sacral Authority makes decisions from their gut.

  4. Profile: A two-number combination that represents a person’s "role" in life, shedding light on how they interact with others, approach challenges, and fulfill their purpose.

  5. Channels and Gates: Channels link centers together, and each has a particular energy theme. Gates represent specific energies or traits, which, when combined, form a unique set of potentials.

Human Design readings help individuals understand how they best navigate life, relationships, work, and personal growth, making it a powerful guide for self-awareness and alignment with one's higher purpose.
